The Actice app has been an idea that I have been thinking about since the beginning of my freshman year of college. After spending money on textbooks, food, and going out, I found that my wallet felt lighter and lighter each week. I think I was losing money, but I was not really sure. I had a part time job, but I did not know if that was offsetting my new expensive college life.
I needed something that would not only centralise my bank and Venmo account, but also my physical cash and Visa gift cards. At first, I went to the App Store and tried to look for what I was trying to find. There are a lot of budget apps out there, but I could not find one that gave me full control over my data. They either wanted me to sign in with my back account, had a poor user interface, or did not give me in depth statistics.
So, using my eight years of software development, I made an app that would help me track and manage my financial life. Actice is the final product of that development. I hope it helps not only college kids keep better track of their finances, but also simplify the idea of financial management for adults in every walk of life—From newly married couples to people that find themselves going through financial hardship.
